TSK Consulting Engineers move to New Nottingham Headquarters

Niche structural and civil engineering firm Tunstall Smith King Consulting Engineers (TSK) has revealed a new company headquarters in the heart of Nottingham’s creative quarter.

Previously located in Beeston, 3.4 miles southwest of the city centre, TSK’s new move to 29 Stoney street will see the firm relocate to a new open-plan space in Lace Market, at the heart of the city centre.

Director Stephen King, said: “Myself and the team are excited to be in our new office which looks fantastic but also meet the needs of a growing firm. It has always been our intention to be based in Nottingham city centre as part of our growth plans, and we’ve have had our sights set on the creative quarter as the area perfectly suits the business.

“The central location enables us to be closer to a number of our clients and projects and will help to attract further talent to the business. We are a proactive team providing innovative engineering design solutions, and we are also sociable and see the benefit of networking events, of which there is an abundance in the city centre.”

TSK has a UK-wide portfolio that includes hotels, private housing, student accommodation, industrial and food retail developments.

The engineering firm is also is working on several high-profile local projects including a landmark student accommodation adjacent to Sneiton Market, and a state of the art YMCA Sports and Community Village in Newark.

Collectively, TSK’s portfolio has a construction value in excess of £90m within Nottinghamshire alone.

Stephen added: As directors, we have a combined experience of more than 60 years, and a strong presence in the residential, commercial, industrial and education sectors. As a team, we are growing organically, and the new office can accommodate up to 20 employees, which is where we aim to be in the next few years as we continue to employ talented professionals.

“The new office gives us the additional space that we need to work, and we also encourage our team to take a break where possible. The office pool table certainly helps with this, as well as encouraging a bit of healthy competition.”

The new 1,334 sq ft office was secured by fellow Nottingham-based commercial property agent FHP (link?), and designed by renowned local Victorian architect, Watson Fothergill.

The open-plan ground floor space creates an impression, boasting lots of natural light, exposed brickwork, beams and original cast iron columns.

Thomas Szymkiw, a Surveyor at FHP, said: “I was pleased to assist the team at TSK with their search for a new office. After viewing several options in the Lace Market, I was pleased that 29 Stoney Street was the one that ticked all of the boxes for them. It’s an impressive space, and I wish them all the best there.”
