Today marked the official start of the new industrial scheme in Deeside, North Wales. Held by the partnership between Trebor and Maple Grove Developments, spades were pulled out to have a literal, groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the launch.
The Welsh Government, which is funding the construction will help build industrial units of 10,000 sqft, 24,000 sqft and 50,000 sqft. These units will be available for purchase both on lease or freehold.
Ken Skates, North Wales Minister for the Economy and Transport said: “The Welsh Government is committed to boosting the future prosperity of our enterprise zones and this investment is a clear example of that.”
Along with the employees, Ken Skates and Chris Wheeler at the Welsh Government joined Eric Wright Construction on site.
Mr Skates said: “Supporting business growth by ensuring there are investment ready sites at key locations such as the Deeside Enterprise Zone is an important element of my Economic Action Plan, and I am delighted to mark the start of work on this scheme.
“These industrial units will provide excellent space and an ideal solution for business needs. We will continue to explore opportunities which will support the growth of our economy and I look forward to seeing this development completed next year.”
According to Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner of Trebor, when asked about the joint venture, said the “units will be available from early next year.” It has already taken several months to create the base of the brownfield site, so now only the constructing awaits.
Mark Diaper, associate director at Legat Owen said:” The Welsh Government’s proactive approach and ability to fund the development coupled with the joint venture’s determination to make the scheme happen has resulted getting this scheme off the ground.”
The scheme has just started, and we are already excited to see the turn out as we hope it succeeds. Both the Welsh Government and the joint venture (Trebor and Maple Grove) have invested a lot of time into this scheme, and we look forward to seeing the result of the industrial units that will be available for lease or freehold very soon.
