Global property investment firm CBRE has announced both the launch of its Renewable Energy Valuation & Advisory Service as well as the recent appointment of a new Senior Director to oversee the UK valuation team.

While technically joining the company earlier this year, Ross Cooper’s appointment was only announced earlier this week by CBRE.

Commenting on his appointment, Ross (pictured right) said: “CBRE is the renowned market leader in real estate advisory services and there is a huge opportunity to help our clients improve and manage the performance of their buildings through the use of renewable energy as well as grow a direct foothold in these opportunistic sectors which have strong assimilations to the real estate market.”

Joining from Investor, developer and fund management firm Equitix, where he was a Director in the Investments team, Ross has over 20 years of experience in the sector, with extensive knowledge of renewable energy and infrastructure.

In his new role, Ross will be responsible for “establishing a specialist renewable energy business line” within CBRE’s UK Valuation team.

Highlighting what he brings to the team, Lee Bruce, Head of Fund Valuation at CBRE, commented: “This is a really exciting time for CBRE’s Valuation business, and we are delighted to have Ross on board to help drive our expansion into these new sectors of the market.

“We are constantly looking for ways to provide clients with a competitive advantage and having Ross integrated within our team will enable us to further embed ESG at the forefront of all of our Valuation advice and diversify the range of services we offer and sectors we operate in.”

The large commercial property-focused Real Estate Investment Trust, Palace Capital, has announced the appointment of a new Chairman to its board of directors.

Taking effect on January 1st, Steven Owen, the Non-Executive Chairman of FTSE 250 property investment group Primary Health Properties PLC, will take over departing co-founder Stanley Davis.

Commenting on his appointment, Steven said: “I very much look forward to working with the Palace Capital Board and wider team as it continues with its strategic initiatives to generate attractive shareholder returns and close the current share price discount.”

In Birmingham, meanwhile, a leading development and investment company, Urban Village Group, has appointed a highly experienced property specialist as it targets a period of sustained growth in 2022.

Joining the company as a Developments Director, Graham Haydon-White (pictured right) will focus on delivering Urban Village Group’s large-scale build-to-rent developments across the UK, including phase two of Equipoint in Birmingham and Westminster House in Milton Keynes which has recently gone into planning to provide 237 apartments.

Commenting on his own appointment, Graham said: “I am delighted to be joining the Urban Village Group team at this exciting stage of the company’s growth and look forward to working with the team to bring forward and deliver major development projects across the UK.”

Having previously worked as a Chartered Surveyor and Director for several property firms, Graham has gained invaluable experience throughout his career as a property developer and has helped to deliver over 10,000 units of student accommodation.

Chief executive Nick Sellman added: “Graham’s arrival at Urban Village Group clearly demonstrates how ambitious we are to strategically expand our business and our determination to deliver developments of the very highest quality.

“Graham brings years of experience of working on major projects with some of the best in the business. I am looking forward to working with him as we embark on a period during which we will be delivering numerous developments at sites right across the UK.”
