An Orkney Islands-based storage and removals firm, Advantage Storage Limited (ASL), has purchased a 1,758 sq m unit in Inverness after securing £975,000 in funding from Royal Bank of Scotland.
Owned by McAdie & Reeve Ltd, ASL is the archipelago’s leading removals, storage and distribution specialist, providing solutions to local businesses purchasing from mainland Scotland.
Martin Drury, director at ASL, said: “We are really excited to have a permanent base for the company as we see a rise in demand for depot and transportation services from our customers in Orkney. We’re also confident that the additional space will attract local businesses who require storage solutions as we continue to strengthen our presence in Inverness.
“We are grateful to Royal Bank of Scotland for the level of support it offered throughout the transaction, which helped us reach an important milestone for the business.”
Since acquiring ASL three years ago, Martin Drury and fellow Director Alex Findlater have been operating the business from a rented unit on Seafield Road in Inverness.
Margaret Keenan, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, commented: “Helping Martin and Alex achieve their goal has been extremely rewarding for the team and we look forward to seeing the business develop from its new premises.
“Not only is this good news for ASL, [but] it’s also good news for the Orkney community and its businesses, helping to remove barriers that customers can sometimes face when making larger purchases from the mainland.”
