Commercial People has learned that online home electricals retailer AO has secured a new distribution warehouse in Crewe, Cheshire.
Named Crewe 305, the new facility will add 305,360 sq ft of new distribution space to the company’s logistics network.
Crewe 305 is the second warehouse constructed by logistics developer Panattoni at Crewe Commercial Park and the biggest consented in the area for over a decade.
Crewe 305 is also the largest commercial property build of the year in the North West, and it will house more than 200,000 appliances.
Commenting on the new site, a spokesperson for AO Logistics said: “The rapid expansion of AO Logistics is really a testament to the hard work of our people and how much we’ve grown over the last 18 months. We can’t wait to see how this investment benefits our operation.”
The deal, which was advised by law firm Gordons, marks the second distribution facility secured in Crewe by the retail specialist law firm for AO following last June’s occupation of a 110,000 sq ft warehouse in the town by the retailer.
Gordons Commercial Property Partner, Sarah Ratcliffe; Commercial Property Solicitor, Sophie McFeeley; and Construction Solicitor, Dawn Walker, advised on all elements of the transaction.
Gordons’ Sarah Ratcliffe (pictured right) adds: “Crewe 305 is in an excellent strategic location which will further enable AO to implement its impressive growth strategy. We are very pleased to have helped AO secure this high-quality logistics space.”
Gordons has offices in Leeds and Bradford and employs 170 people. The firm’s other retail clients include B&M, Heron Foods, Iceland Foods, Morrisons, Ocado and Wren Kitchens.
