New Retail Property Agency Secures Trio of New Contracts

A promising niche retail property agency has been appointed as the leasing agent at three of Birmingham’s most well-known retail destinations.

Creative Retail was formed in November 2017 by former Cushman & Wakefield Chartered Surveyor Ed Purcell and Scott Robinson, a former Associate Director of retail and leisure property advisory business Wright Silverwood. The firm provides specialist advice in the retail and leisure industries across lettings, acquisitions, developments and more.

Ed Purcell, Director of Creative Retail, said: “We’re delighted to be working with some of the most vibrant and well-known retail schemes in Birmingham. The retail sector has undergone numerous changes over the last few years, but one thing which has remained is the appeal of schemes which can offer consumers a USP, whether that be the artisan retailers at GWA or the lively atmosphere of the Arcadian.”

The firm has enjoyed a successful 18 months securing new contracts for the Great Western Arcade (GWA), The Arcadian and Newhall Square.

Located in the heart of Birmingham central business district, the Grade II listed Victorian GWA attracts an annual footfall of 3.6 million, while The Arcadian is one of the cities best-known entertainment venues with a range of bars, restaurants and retailers across its 121,182 sq ft scheme.

Acting on behalf of landlords Global Mutual (GWA), London Cambridge Properties (Arcadian) and L&G (Newhall Square), the local Birmingham-based consultancy will be responsible for attracting new occupiers.

Scott Robertson, Director of Creative Retail, added: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of Birmingham. Continued inward investment into the city has made Birmingham a top target for food and beverage companies as well [as] independent retailers looking to expand.”
