One of the UK’s largest property development and investment companies, British Land, has today announced a range of ‘exciting’ restaurants, bars and leisure brands that will open at their upcoming Plymouth city centre development.
Named Drake Circus Leisure, British Land today revealed that four food and beverage brands, as well as one leisure operator, have committed to the impressive 32,000 sq ft development, which is scheduled to open this Autumn.
Local Council leader Tudor Evans OBE said: “This is one of the only city centre leisure developments happening right now in the UK and not only is the building transforming this part of the city centre, it’s helping to bring some great – and new names – into Plymouth. These brands share our vision to bring more people to the city centre, to keep reinventing what Plymouth has to offer so that more people visit – both during the day and in the evening.”
Located adjacent to British Land’s existing Drake Circus Shopping Centre, the leisure complex will be anchored by a 41,000 sq ft, 12-screen Cineworld cinema, and the first IMAX screen in the South West.
New restaurants opening in Drake Circus Leisure include a 2,500 sq ft Five Guys, and a 4,300 sq ft Nandos. In addition, the upmarket café-bar chain, Cosy Club will take 6,700 sq ft while Italian eatery Zizzi has committed to a 4,000 sq ft space.

In addition to the above, Paradise Island Adventure Golf will also open its first facility in the South West with their new 15,000 sq ft indoor golf centre.
