One of the UK’s leading construction contractors MCS Group has today announced their 50,000 sq ft warehouse/distribution unit in Milton Keynes has reached practical completion.
MCS Group successfully managed to deliver ‘Optima 50’ on behalf of Coal Pensions Properties, both on time and on budget.
Located at Garamonde Drive, Wymbush, the Warwickshire-based MCS Group also completed ‘Optima 20’, a 20,000 sq ft unit, at the same site.
Both of the commercial properties in Milton Keynes were pre-let with Sysmex UK occupying Optima 20 & DRS Data Services expected to move into Optima 50 Shortly.
MCS Group’s Construction Director Tim Perkins said: “This has been a great project and we’re delighted to be able to hand both units over to Coal Pensions Properties ready for their new occupiers to move in.”
Optima 50 benefits from immediate access to the A5 via the Abbey Hill interchange, and the estate is approximately one mile west of central Milton Keynes with junction 14 of the M1 motorway just 4.5 miles to the east.
Optima 50 is built to BREEAM Excellent specification and has around 5,000 sq ft of office space with four dock level loading doors, two-level access loading doors and many other features.
Other nearby occupiers include Brioche Pasquier, Thyssenkrupp and VW Group.
Tim added: “We believe there is a major opportunity for us to establish ourselves as one of the leading main contractors in the sector and in 2019 we expect to deliver more than 1.5 million sq ft.”
MCS Group is currently constructing several warehouse units at sites across the UK, having previously built and refurbished more than 300 car dealerships including Audi, BMW, Mclaren and Jaguar Land Rover since its inception in 2003.
