Manchester commercial property news in brief

Manchester developer Capital & Centric has won planning permission for its £6m Tithebarn project in Liverpool. The redevelopment No.12 Tithebarn Street will see the block converted into 40,000 sq ft of office space. The speculative refurbishment has also secured £2.4m of grant funding from European Regional Development Fund towards the project. Once complete the development is projected to create 350 jobs.

Overbury, a leading fit out and refurbishment specialist, is handing over a new 13,000 sq ft purpose-built IVF clinic in Daresbury Park, Warrington to its client, The Reproductive Health Group. The £950,000 project, designed by Lovelock Mitchell Architects, saw Overbury act as a principal contractor and deliver the scheme within 13 weeks.

Heald Green -based NJL Consulting has published plans for the ‘South Clitheroe Sustainable Urban Extension’ on behalf of their client, Strategic Land Group. The proposals seek to deliver a sustainable extension to the south of Clitheroe as an alternative to the Standen Strategic Site. Up to 700 new homes and 3 acres of employment land are envisaged.

The Manchester office of property consultancy GVA has been appointed by the water company, United Utilities, to advise on the second phase of building surveys as part of its North West operational estates management programme. The Building team of GVA Manchester will work on behalf of United Utilities to assist them in reviewing the condition and planned maintenance costs of over 500 properties.

BRE has let the final 9,090 sq ft vacant unit at Chesford Grange in Warrington have agreed on a five-year lease at £4.25 per sq ft with Goodyear Dunlop Tyres. Chesford Grange, which is owned by the Henderson UK Property Fund. Other occupiers include Bunzl Cleaning and Hygiene Supplies, Sidhil, Horizon Platforms and Sound Global. Savills was the joint letting agent. CP Bigwood advised Goodyear Dunlop.
