Commercial People has learned that the Board, one of London’s biggest private investment companies, has made a major senior-level appointment.
In a press release shared with Commercial People earlier, the Board of Old Park Lane Management Limited (“OPLM”) announced that David Gardiner would join the company from 1 November 2021 as Head of Property Management.
Gardiner (pictured right), is currently a Director of Property & Asset Management at JLL, and is expected to play a crucial role in managing the OPLM portfolio, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.
Commenting on his appointment, OPLM Chief Executive James Cooksey said: “I am so pleased David will be joining the team during the next phase of expansion for the business, as we move towards completing 20 Ropemaker and starting other new and exciting projects.”
Meanwhile, OPLM Managing Director Tim Sketchley, Managing Director, added: “David is an accomplished and respected asset manager whose career I have followed with interest. I am thrilled that he has accepted this new role as steward for one of the most important assets in our portfolio.”
One of Gardiner’s principal responsibilities will be the mobilisation and future management of the 420,000-sq-ft 20 Ropemaker office and retail development in the City of London, which is due for completion in Autumn 2023.
OPLM is a London-based private investment company formed in 1995, with more than 1.5 million sq ft of assets in the Central London market.
The company’s 20 Ropemaker office is the largest project under construction in its portfolio and is due for completion in mid-2023.
Giving his thoughts on his upcoming move, David Gardiner said: “After almost four decades working in London real estate, including 13 great years with JLL, I am now looking forward to the next phase in my career, working client-side with one of central London’s most respected developers and investors.”
