One of Scotland’s largest independent commercial property consultancies, Ryden, has announced the signings of five new lettings at Inverclyde’s premier covered shopping centre Oak Mall.
In a press release given to Commercial People this morning by Ryden, the new tenants include gifts and stationery chain The Works, who have taken a five-year lease at 22 Hamilstin Way for a 5,500 sq ft space, as well as retailer Poundstretcher who will occupy an 8,000 sq ft unit at 14 Hamilton Way.
In addition, the electronic cigarette retailer Vapourohm have taken a 700 sq ft unit at 14 Hamilton Gate, while newsagents Oak News have acquired a 1,600 sq ft unit at 49 Hamilton Way.
Iain Minto, Director of M&M Asset Management, commented on these transactions stating: “The leasing team at Oak Mall are delighted by the new additions to the tenant line-up in Greenock.
“We continue to work with new and existing occupiers to ensure that the trading environment at Oak Mall meets the needs of the town centre. We welcome the new retailers and we are confident they will further enhance the current retail offer.”
Along with the above extensions, Santander extended their lease for a further ten years, while the travel agency TUI have renewed their lease for five additional years.
The mall also will welcome a newly designed Primark and 3 Store, along with confectionary American Candy who will occupy a 2,000 sq ft unit at 45 Hamilton Way.
John Conroy, a Retail Agency Partner at Ryden, added: “With over 50 shops, Oak Mall is Inverclyde’s premier covered shopping centre, offering exceptional opportunities for both retail and non-retail uses.
“We are continually encouraged by the level of interest in the shopping centre from both new and existing occupiers, notwithstanding what is generally acknowledged to be a tough retail market.”
