A leading Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire-based property consultancy Kirkby Diamond have once again given young talent a platform to perform after two recent appointments.
The full-service chartered surveyors have hired graduate building surveyor Ben Lowe (featured image) and school leaver Courtney Cummins as the pair study to become fully qualified property professionals.
Ben joins Kirkby Diamond’sDiamond’s Milton Keynes office after graduating with a degree in Building Surveying at the University College of Estate Management. Ben is currently working towards obtaining his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a fully qualified chartered surveyor.
Courtney Cummins meanwhile joins the firms’ Luton office following her A levels, where she will gain experience while completing a remote learning course in Level Six Chartered Surveyor (Real Estate pathway) Degree Apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University. Courtney’s degree-level apprenticeship is the first that Kirkby Diamond has offered and the firm hopes that Courtney’sCourtney’s venture will become a ‘trailblazer’ for more to follow in her footsteps.
Commenting on the hiring of the two recruits, Kirkby Diamond partner and head of industrial agency Luke Tillison said: “It is well documented that there is a skills shortage right across the property sector and it is crucial that we all do what we can to encourage young people into the profession.
“I am therefore delighted to welcome Ben and Courtney to Kirkby Diamond where we will provide all the support and encouragement they need in order to build a career as qualified surveyors. Their arrival means that we have now strengthened our professional and building surveying teams significantly during the past few weeks. We will continue to invest in our teams, going forward.”
Both Ben and Courtney also join Tracy Brooker (Associate in Valuation and Property Management) in Milton Keynes and Karl Saralli, Commercial Agency Surveyor and Administrator in Bedford.
