John Truslove Helps Restaurant Couple to Expand

The Worcestershire town of Bromsgrove will usher in new jobs as property agents John Truslove help a local husband and wife to expand their business with a new bar and eaterie.

Ben and wife Vicky Ascott, the couple behind the popular Fuso Italian restaurant at 148 New Road, Aston Fields, are set to open their new concept to compliment the booming main restaurant.

At present, the popularity of the Italian restaurant, with its own wood-fired pizza oven, has seen the couple having to limit customers to just a two-hour stay because of the restricted space. However, with the expanded space, Fuso can now serve double the amount of customers.

Highlighting the significance of the new premises, Owner Ben Ascott said: “Now we will be able to offer a wide range of home-cooked ‘street food’ and comfort dishes from around the world at Ascott’s as an alternative,

“It will also mean customers from Fuso will be able to come next door for an after-dinner drink.

“We will have a range of craft beers and lagers behind the bar and are currently working on pairings – matching the beers to particular dishes.

“We can cater for around 45 customers at Fuso and will be able to serve an extra 40 with the new expansion.”

Restauranter Ben started his career at Pizza Hut in Bromsgrove when he was just 16, with his later wife, Vicky, joining him in the industry when she left college. After years of working with Ben’s family, the couple ran a fish and chip shop for a decade at Lickey Hills as well as a Pizzeria.

The Pizzeria would develop into a love affair that saw the couple open Fuso in December 2017. However, when the opportunity arose to take over the vacant gym, the couple knew it was the right time to expand their business. The soon to be opened Ascott’s@Fuso will hire an additional 15 staff to work alongside their existing 15 person team at Fuso.

John Truslove’s joint Managing Director, Ben Truslove commented on the deal, stating: “We are delighted that we have been able to help a thriving restaurant business move to the next level.

“Ben and Vicky are experienced restaurateurs who clearly understand their market and know how to keep their customers happy. I am sure these premises are the ingredient that will complete the recipe for their success. This will be a bright addition to the restaurant scene in Bromsgrove, adding to the attraction of the town.”
