Commercial People has learned that independent property firm Hortons’ Estate Ltd has completed an extensive refurbishment of a logistics building in Staffordshire
Ready for immediate occupation, the independent property firm has invested in Lymedale 68, a modern, 66,983 sq ft unit prominently located on Lymedale Business Park in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Lymedale 68 incorporates a two-storey office and parking for up to 100 vehicles. Hortons’ acquired the building from global technology solutions company Avnet in April 2021.
Jeremy Boothroyd of Hortons’ said: “Lymedale 68 is a high-quality warehouse unit in a popular destination, given its close proximity to the regional and national motorway networks. We have refurbished the building to modern standards and are already receiving significant interest from distributors looking for much-needed warehouse and logistics accommodation in the region.”
Commenting on the unit David Willmer, Principal for Industrial, Sales and Leasing at Avison Young, said: “Lymedale 68 represents a great opportunity to satisfy the needs of occupiers looking for high quality accommodation in a prime location close to both major A roads and the M6 motorway. The building is available for immediate occupation and we’re confident it won’t be on the market for very long.”
Meanwhile, Andrew Groves, Director at Harris Lamb, said: “The industrial and logistics sector has witnessed unprecedented demand and activity over the last 18 months, fueled by the boom in the e-commerce sector during the Covid-19 pandemic. The arrival of Lymedale 68 provides much welcomed mid-box industrial stock on an established business park that has previously attracted occupiers such as New Look, TK Maxx and Asda.”
Lymedale Business Park is an established industrial park of circa 75 acres and lies one mile north of Newcastle-under-Lyme. The nearby A50 provides access to major destinations such as Nottingham and Derby.
