Midlands-based interior design firm Franklin Ellis Architects is on track to deliver a series of hotel schemes across the UK after strengthening its team to accommodate the growing hospitality sector.
Franklin Ellis Architects who have offices in both Nottingham and Leicester have seen the demand for their hotel work increase by 20% in the last year. As a result, the firm has announced the promotion of one of its longest-serving interior team members, Denise Ellis to Associate Partner, as well as the appointment of Kath Hinsley to Senior Interior Designer.
Speaking about life at Franklin Ellis, the experienced Denise Ellis said: “At Franklin Ellis, we are very passionate about nurturing creative design and aim to deliver well-considered innovative schemes for our clients and their guests. It is incredibly fulfilling, and we are lucky enough to work with many leading global brands on a variety of projects.
“I am on a wonderful journey with Franklin Ellis, and I’m delighted to become an associate partner and to welcome Kath to the team. She is talented in delivering innovative and well-considered interior design projects and has great expertise in creating and implementing design strategies for public and private sector clients.”
Senior interior designer Kath Hinsley brings more than 25 years of interior design experience and will work from both Franklin Ellis offices in Nottingham and Leicester, to manage projects across a range of sectors including hospitality, retail and education.
Commenting on her journey thus far, Kath said: “I have always had an interest in building environments from a very young age and a passion for interior designs and how we experience them.
“I have known of Franklin Ellis for quite some time, even working as an external consultant on one of its architectural projects in Leicester. I’m delighted to join Denise and the rest of the dynamic team to work on the various hotel projects in the pipeline.
“The company’s growth plans to develop its client base and expand the Leicester office really appealed to me. I look forward to helping the team continue their growth within the East Midlands architectural community.”
The interior design team at Franklin Ellis Architects are currently working with the prestigious Marriot hotel brand on a dual-branded hotel located in Slough. Due to complete in 2022, the hotel will combine a ‘funky’ 144-room Moxy hotel and a 92-room extended-stay Residence Inn within one impressive building.
Franklin Ellis is also working on the Hotel Indigo in Chester, a 75-room boutique hotel that will feature rooms based around the towns historic architecture, racecourse and famous clock tower. Hotel Indigo is due to open this summer.
Denise adds: “Hotels are ever-evolving as the needs of guests continue to change, and as more of us travel and work away from home, the sector continues to grow.
“We are incredibly lucky to be working on several unique schemes across the UK, and we look forward to delivering these over the coming months as we continue to expand our hotel portfolio.”
