The UK’s leading occupier-only commercial property consultancy, DeVono Cresa, has announced the appointment of two senior members to lead its new Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) service offering.
Bringing a combined experience of over 55-years, new Directors Dan Robinson and Paul Danks will lead the expansion of DeVono Cresa’s GPS service offering, taking the lead on developing an integrated service offering and solution for occupier clients across the UK, Europe and globally.
Welcoming the duo, Luke Philpott, Joint CEO of DeVono Cresa, said: “It is fantastic to have consultants of the calibre and experience of Dan and Paul join our team. Their network extends our market reach across the UK, Europe and globally exponentially. Their addition will allow us to work with clients on the implementation of strategies to reduce cost, enhance value, and ensure that maximum efficiencies and wellbeing are derived from the occupation of real estate.”
DeVono Cresa’s new GPS service is a comprehensive advice partnership that is aimed at ‘understanding business needs to ensure the real estate strategy aligns with the long-term objectives.’
Commercial People spoke with directors Dan Robinson and Paul Danks to learn more about the history of the two former Newmark Knight Frank seniors and the GPS platform.
Commercial People: Before joining DeVono Cresa, you were both Executive Managing Directors at Newmark Knight Frank (NKF), I assume this is how you met?
Paul Danks (pictured right): Actually, Dan and I have known each other for over 15-years, some of that is, of course, our shared time at NKF, but we met during my prior role as European Managing Director at NAI Global.
CP: What attracted you to join DeVono Cresa?
Dan Robinson: One of the things that attracted us was the opportunity to utilise our vast experience in building and running businesses to help expand DeVono Cresa’s regional capability beyond London and into the global market space.
PD: In addition to that, I would say that the top-quality research conducted by Head of Insights, Shaun Dawson and his team, also attracted me to the role.
I commend the work that Shaun and the research team are doing, especially the insight into the changes taking place in the market – all of which helps us to better position our portfolio strategies when talking to existing and future clients.
CP: Brilliant, so how exactly does the GPS service work, and what does a typical conversation look like?
PD: The journey essentially starts with a sense check, whereby we spend the time to gain an in-depth understanding of where the clients business is at present, as well as the interests of their sector, and most importantly, where the business would like to go.
DR (pictured right): Essentially we like to take the time to listen and truly understand the needs of the business, finding out exactly what the business wants and where it intends to be – as opposed to offering them a simple one-size-fits-all solution.
In order for us to help a company, it is imperative that we understand their objective, and from then, we can help them to reach and achieve their targets – These targets, of course, differ from client to client, and can be anything as simple as facilitating a grand transaction or helping them to understand and better-position their portfolio to transition into a new industry/sector.
CP: On your website, you detail an extensive list of service offering under GPS, but could you tell me more about how the ‘Technology & Business Intelligence’ aspect works?
DR & PD: Certainly, at the heart of our GPS, we offer a simple and clear technology called Vālo.
Vālo is our in-house developed business and intelligence dashboard that amalgamates data from various sources to highlight key things a client would want to know about their portfolio. These could be as simple as KPI tracking or more specialist angles that allow a client to see the efficiency of their portfolio at that moment and understand potential gaps in their operations while assessing their performance.
Global Portfolio Solutions Director Paul Danks has previously held leadership roles at businesses such as NAI Fuller Peiser, BNP Paribas Real Estate, NAI Global, and is currently President-Elect of SIOR (The Society of Industrial & Office Realtors).
Commenting on his appointment in a press release earlier, Paul said: “DeVono Cresa provides us with an unrivalled & growing platform to service the needs and develop bespoke solutions for corporate occupiers internationally,”
Director Dan Robinson is a multi-national industry veteran, having spent significant time across both the US and UK real estate sectors. In his new role, he will draw on his senior management experience with organisations such as The Revere Group – an NTT Data company, MERK Capital, Hub Group, and C.H. Robinson.
In a statement released earlier, Dan said: “I’m delighted to have joined DeVono Cresa leveraging my 24 years of experience working with global corporates across North America and Europe. I look forward to enabling the business by developing our GPS offering and client base.”
