Cushman & Wakefield Apprentice Wins at Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards

An apprentice from Cushman & Wakefield’s Birmingham office has been named ‘Outstanding Apprentice of the Year in Construction’ at Birmingham Live’s inaugural Ladder for Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards.

Victoria Smith is currently into her second year of the apprenticeship programme at the global real estate firm and currently sits in the Development & Planning team within the Birmingham office.

Commenting on winning the award, Victoria said: “It’s a huge honour to have been awarded Apprentice of the Year in the Construction category. I’m very thankful for the support and opportunities on offer at Cushman & Wakefield.

“I believe that apprenticeships are the way forward, not only for the students but for the companies themselves. The apprenticeship programme that I am currently a part of enables me to gain valuable on the job experience at the same time as gaining a degree.”

Victoria was nominated for the award for embracing the opportunities to learn and making a significant contribution to the culture of the firm.

Cushman & Wakefield also came runner up in the Medium Employer of the Year category, and have five apprentices in the Birmingham office, with many more across the UK.

David Tonks, Head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Birmingham office, said: “Congratulations to Victoria on a fantastic and well-deserved award win. Since joining, Victoria and her fellow apprentices have made a positive impact on the business demonstrating enthusiasm, dedication and commitment. This includes organising an office netball team, engaging in a national company televised debate and social media engagement as well as taking an active role in many office activities.”
