Commercial People has learned that CBRE Global Investors has secured a lease on its 77,906 sq ft industrial unit at Enterprise 36 industrial park in South Yorkshire.
The lease – which comes just a month after acquiring the speculatively developed unit from Wilton Developments, sees Sheffield-based business GB Eye LTD move into the industrial space as the company continues their growth plans.
CBRE’s Industrial team in Leeds, alongside joint agent CPP, advised on the deal.
Commenting on the let, Danielle Raunjak in CBRE’s Leeds Industrial Agency team said: “It is a fantastic result to have secured a deal with GB Eye at Unit 2, Enterprise 36, particularly with an established, growing Sheffield business. The deal demonstrates the high demand for Grade A, well located units along the M1 corridor and this is further compounded by the severe supply constraints.”
GB Eye is one of the UK’s leading licensed pop culture merchandise companies. Founded in 1986, the company has over 100 licences with brands and specialises in a wide range of posters for general consumer and business use.
GB Eye will be expanding into the new premises to support their growth plan following their recent consolidation to the European Abysse Corp Group.
Discussing the move, Steven Birks, Managing Director at GB Eye, commented: “The team at GB Eye are delighted to have completed the lease on Unit 2, Enterprise 36. This warehouse gives the platform we need to expand our pick and pack capabilities and aid our growth in the UK. Abysse have big investment plans in the UK, and this unit was an ideal fit as far as size and location. With the addition of these premises, we will be expanding the GB Eye team across this site and our existing site in Sheffield to enable this growth.”
