Two emerging property professionals from the Midlands and North have been named as the ‘Rising Star’ of their respective regions by the British Council for Offices (BCO).
Taking place at ‘The Porter Tun’ in London earlier this week, the fourth annual BCO NextGen Awards presented, Roxana Botezatu (featured image), an Architect at Gensler and Simon Hill, Associate Director at DLG Architects LLP, with awards for their achievements.
Joe Huddleston, Design Manager at Gensler and Chair of the BCO NextGen Midlands chapter, said: “Roxana’s inquisitive nature and desire to exceed expectations is inspiring. She goes above and beyond in all she engages with, challenging herself and her team. Roxana ultimately finds the best solutions for the clients she works with and builds lasting relationships during the process.”
Paul Patenall, President of the BCO, added: “Roxana’s dedication to the industry is admirable. To have achieved so much so young is remarkable and to have done so with a constant smile and positive energy that clearly inspires those around her. Congratulations, Roxana, a most deserving winner!”
The BCO awards are part of the firms’ NextGen programme, which aims to mentor and encourage the next generation of property professionals.
BCO’s NextGen Rising award recognises the achievements of under 35’s upon the office sector.
Winner of the Rising Star of the North award, Simon joined DLG Architects as a Part II Architectural Assistant five years ago. Having become a qualified architect, Simon was promoted to Associate Director as well as becoming co-president of the Leeds Society of Architects.
Commenting on Simon’s achievements, Richard Robinson, Partner at Shulmans LLP and Chair of the BCO NextGen North chapter, said: “Simon’s tenacity and creativity on the Wellington Street refurbishment have allowed his whole team to flourish and create a positive working environment. Simon sets a fantastic example for aspiring architects, and I would like to offer my congratulations that he has been recognised in the industry for his passion and talent.”
