Bedfordshire Industrial Estate Sees a Flurry of Lettings

Commercial People has learned that a significant industrial estate in Bedfordshire has seen a flurry of letting activity.

Apex Park – which we previously covered on the site, is a new speculative development of 13 business units that are said to be the first of its kind in Leighton Buzzard for more than 20 years. Consultancy Kirkby Diamond has hailed the major industrial estate as an overwhelming success after completing lettings to 10 companies.

Funded by the London-based investment company Pears Property Advisors, Apex Park, has units ranging from 1,880 sq ft to 20,800 sq ft, totalling 57,100 sq ft.

Lang UK, the leading global distributors of visual presentation technology, has agreed to a lease on an 8,110 sq ft unit, as has FAI Automotive, distributors of premium aftermarket automotive components.

Ram online Ltd, trading as Blue Box Self Storage, has taken a 5,200 sq ft unit, and AIS Surveyors, a chartered surveying practice, has agreed to a lease on a 5,200 sq ft unit.

Units of 1,880 sq ft have also been let to Heath Electrical, Universal Event Production, Stephen & Son, Diverse Flooring, and LTM Design. Just one unit remains available at the popular site.

Eamon Kennedy, Head of Commercial Agency at Kirkby Diamond, said: “There hasn’t been a development of high-quality industrial units in Leighton Buzzard for over 20 years, and therefore there is significant pent-up demand.

“It has been an overwhelming success, and we’re not surprised that we have already been able to agree on lettings for 12 units. It’s great to see those companies moving in and starting to operate.

“We’ve had a lot of enquiries from logistics firms, engineering companies and trade counter occupiers and we’re looking forward to more occupiers moving into their new business premises in due course.”

Apex Park is prominently located on Leighton Road, with easy access to the M1. Leighton Buzzard also benefits from mainline railway services, with London Euston approximately 30 minutes away.
