Allied Surveyors Scotland appoints new Building Surveyor

Allied Surveyors Scotland – one of Scotland’s largest independent chartered surveyors – has today announced the appointment of a former Scotland rugby international to their Edinburgh office.

Appointed as a Building Surveyor, Gavin Kerr will join the firm with immediate effect, having previously held commercial property roles at Savills and CKD Galbraith.

Kerr, 42 amassed 50 caps for Scotland before retiring in 2010 due to a neck injury.

Commenting on his move to Allied Surveyors Scotland, Kerr said: “I am thrilled to be back working in commercial property again, and I am relishing the challenge of developing a building surveying presence for Allied on Scotland’s east coast.”

Today’s appointment of Gavin Kerr comes nearly a decade after he gained vital experience with the firm whilst training to become a surveyor shortly after retirement.

Chris Highton, Director and Vice-Chairman of Allied Surveyors Scotland, said: “We helped guide Gavin in his early days of transition from sport to surveying. He returns to us with a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts across the property industry,”

Gavin will be working closely with the firm’s east commercial agency department, providing a full range of building surveying services.

Ian Mercer, the founder of Allied’s commercial agency department, asserts that: “Gavin’s appointment means we can now provide a vital extension to our range of professional services for our commercial property clients”,
